So You Want To Be A Programmer?

Java is my choice

Well ok so I can't really make up my mind. I have finally settled on Java. Here are my reasons in case you're interested.

Operating System Independent -- It doesn't matter what platform or OS you have it will operate the same or mostly the same across them all

The Dev Community is active -- I'm not saying that other Dev communities aren't, but I know there is a huge Java community.

Docs all over teh 'Net -- There is a lot of documentation on the 'net regarding Java and learning it.

I'm sure I have more, but it's late for me. My day job is running 6 ten hour shifts for the harvest season of pistachios. I've been up since 4:30 AM and am starting to drag.... zzzz ;)

I've purchased a book called "Head First into Java". It takes the learning of the Java language from a very non-traditional perspective. These people have taken the time to learn how people learn. I've had a lot of retention so far and it's entertaining to read :)

Anyway so from HTML to CSS to PHP to C# to now Java. I think I'm done thinking about which language. I'll have to share with you my first debugging experience in programming The Beer Song. ;)
